I have been salmon and trout fishing for over 45 years.
I developed a passion for fishing at a very early age when my Uncle Tom took me on his regular trips to Aberfeldy where I caught my first salmon under his guidance on the River Tay.
I refined my skills and improved my knowledge of rivercraft over the next 20 years, fishing all over Scotland on river and loch. I have been employed professionally as a ghillie for the last 20 years.
I have fished all over Scotland including the Tay, the Spey, the Dee, the Tweed, the Badachro System, and the River Endrick to name but a few. I spent 7 seasons as First Ghillie, and Fly Dresser for Grimersta Lodge Estate on The Isle of Lewis, where I also acted as a District Salmon Fishery Board water bailiff.
I have fished for and caught many species from around the world including Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, Rooster Fish, Cubera Snapper, Barracuda, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Sailfish, and two species of Marlin. I also have a Bill Fish GrandSlam under my belt from a trip to Mexico.
I can provide all tackle if required, casting tuition for the beginner, as well as an extra word of guidance for the more experienced fisher. I have excellent boat handling skills, the priority for me being my guests safety, as well as having a great fishing experience.
And even if the fish don’t bite, you just need to take a look around at the beautiful landscape that surrounds you, there really is no better place to be.
